Seven Questions with Tanja Bochnig

Name: Tanja Bochnig
Company: April Aromatics
Finalist Perfume: Calling All Angels
Category: Artisan

1. Where are you, right now?
I am in my studio in Berlin, creating a new scent for Spring. Its raining outside right now: Cosy!

2. What was the last thing you searched for, in Google?
I was looking for new house slippers for my four year old daughter. She grows by the week and nothing fits her anymore.

3. What's a song you are listening to, these days?
I love hard rock as much as yoga chanting music. So you can find me listening equally to Led Zeppelin (my all time favorite group), as much as Snatam Kaur.

4. What led you to perfumery?
The passion and love for scent, and nature. <3

calling_all_angels_250px5. What excites you about 'Calling All Angels'?
It was 3 years in the making until I felt that it was perfect for me. It has something from both worlds, like the music links above. It's strong and it's soft, it's loud and it's ethereal. It's earthy and it is angelic at the same time.

It kind of reflects my personality.

6. Name three scents (other than your own) that you are a big fan of.
I love natural perfumes. Every time I am in Los Angeles I buy one perfume from Strange Invisible Perfumes. I love her Prima Ballerina.
I also love Lavender and Honey by Monica Miller/ Perfume Pharmers.
And I love Ayala Moriel's Etrog.

7. If you could give a few words of advice to a young person trying to do something of note in the world, what would you say?
Follow your passion, follow your heart's dream and never stop believing that anything is possible. There is magic to be found in the darkest corners and in every day of your life. Do everything you do with love and gratitude.
