Saskia here. I wanted to take a moment to publish the speech I was going to give at the beginning of the 4th annual Art and Olfaction Awards, before I lost track of myself. It was an amazing event, and I am proud of the work we did. However, I am also cognizant of the challenges facing the awards. So, for those of you who weren't there in person (and for those of you who were but missed the bulk of what I wanted to say because... Well... I forgot to say it)... Here we go!
Every year, we commission a writer to compose some lines on what scent means to them. This year, we invited Los Angeles-based writer Maxwell Williams to take on the task. What follows are Maxwell's musings on the value, the subjectivity and the ultimate beauty of smelling.
We are now accepting submissions for the fourth annual Art and Olfaction Awards.
Submission for the awards are made through a two-part submission process:
The online submission form (accessible at the button, below)
A physical package containing the perfume
Once you submit your online form, you will receive an email with instructions about sending your physical submission to the IAO.
