5th annual Art and Olfaction Awards at The Tabernacle in London: April 21, 2018
We will open submissions for the 6th Art and Olfaction Awards in October 2018, in three categories: Artisan, Independent and Experimental (known as the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Work with Scent). Participating brands must be independently owned, or owned by a parent company with no more than four fine fragrance holdings in its brand portfolio. In the independent and artisan categories, we accept perfumes first released to market between January 1 and December 31, 2018. In the Sadakichi Award, we accept projects that had or will have their public début between December 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018.

We have three submission categories for the Art and Olfaction Awards, which reflect the varieties of practice in independent perfumery. Please click the category below to learn about qualifiers and rules for each category, or email us at email@example.com for more information.
For brands that are owned or co-owned by the perfumer, who initiated and created the submission's formula in-house, released under the brand's name.
For brands that employed an external perfumer or fragrance house to create the submission's formula, which was then released under the brand's name.
Sadakichi Award (Experimental)
For creative or experimental practitioners who make unconventional use of scent, that takes it out of the domain of traditional perfumery.
We have two discretionary awards that we award on a yearly basis to one person or perfume, per award. Please click the award type below to learn about the qualifiers for each category, and how we decide the winners.
Contribution to Scent Culture Award
This award is given on an annual basis to an outstanding person who makes significant contributions to public awareness of artisan, independent and experimental practices with scent on an international scale.
Aftel Award for Handmade Perfume
This award will be given on an annual basis to one outstanding small batch perfume that was 100% perfumer-created, in-house, with no use of outsourced compounding or expansion at any stage of the process.
