ULRIKE KNÖLL

Germany-based Ulrike Knöll  is a freelance writer, trainer and fragrance specialist.

As the "text guru" for Germany's Aus Liebe Zum Duft / First in Fragrance, she has her hands in almost every pie - when those pies relate to the written word. Her primary responsibility is their “Fragrance Diary” blog, but many texts in their shop also hail from her prolific pen. Since late 2008 Ulrike has been active in the house of Wuchsa and actively helped with the relaunch of their website, overseeing planning and implementation, as well as the categorization of fragrances - a particular specialty of hers. Through her company Fragrance Communications, Ulrike works with different distributors and distribution companies by providing texts and trainings. She has a regular column in German trade magazine Inside Beauty, and has served as an advisor for the "Air Balance" scent system for Daimler AG.

Ulrike lives in Stuttgart. Currently holding a degree in philosophy, she hopes soon to finish her doctoral thesis. When she’s not up to her ears in writing and books, Ulrike likes to meet up with friends, is an enthusiastic cinéaste, and has a penchant for furniture, design and fashion. To compensate for her admittedly cerebral activities, she enjoys horse riding, and saddles up just as often as she possibly can.

2019 marks the second year of Ulrike Knöll's participation as a judge in The Art and Olfaction Awards. She will serve as a shortlisting judge, in the artisan category.
