KAYA SORHAINDO

By using "Scent as a medium" for expanding the experience of art across a diverse range of creative disciplines; Kaya's cross-disciplinary projects offer new areas of inspiration in contemporary perfumery and aim to form deep emotional relationships with audiences.

With over 15 years experience as a Creative Director working in the fields of fashion, art, beauty, and publishing, Kaya is the founder and creative director of FOLIE À PLUSIEURS.

In 2008 Kaya conceptualized the brand SIX SCENTS PARFUMS, a niche perfume company that aligned emerging fashion designers with renowned perfumers to create a collection of limited edition perfumes with proceeds going to charity. The collection was launched at the New Museum in New York with exhibitions in Moscow, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Paris, Arnhem, Miami and New York and presented in over 250 shops worldwide.

Since, Kaya has realized 48 fragrances by a range of international artists, and has worked with the finest galleries, art institutions, brands and artist on several contemporary olfactive projects. Awards include a Cannes Lions for best cosmetic packaging design concept and FIFI award for best indie fragrance.

2017 marks the second year of Kaya Sorhaindo's participation as a judge at The Art and Olfaction Awards. He will be judging the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Work with Scent.
