ARABELLE SICARDI

Arabelle Sicardi is a writer based in New York City.

Their writing focuses on the political possibilities that beauty produces. Some of their writing focuses on the cultural history of perfume, while other pieces focus on the historical violence and discriminatory practices throughout spaces within the beauty realm. They follow the belief that beauty is a thread of power, and that fundamentally, power corrupts.

Besides writing for magazines such as ALLURE, teenVOGUE, ELLE, Hazlitt, NYLON, I-D, and Racked, they’ve also done collaborative drone-based artwork and produced holographic video games based on mythological women. They were recognized as a DAZED Magazine Top Creative in 2017 and are currently working on book projects and an art collaboration with fellow creative Addie Wagenknecht.

2019 marks the first year of Arabelle Sicardi's participation as a judge in The Art and Olfaction Awards. They will serve as a judge for the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Work with Scent.
