MICAH HAHN
Creative Director (at large)

Raised mostly in New Mexico, Micah Hahn obtained his Masters’ Degree in Graphic Design at California Institute of the Arts (Cal-Arts), in Valencia, CA.

He started his design career at Channel One News, a TV network that was broadcast in high schools. While there, Micah oversaw the production of on-air motion graphics for the network’s programming slate, as well as overseeing a number of design initiatives for the marketing and ad sales departments. Concurrently, Micah taught at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. His subjects of instruction included graphic design and dynamic typography – which remains his passion, to this day.

In 2006 Micah was hired to oversee and create Current TV’s design department. In his tenure as VP of Design at Current, he propelled his team towards international recognition as one the most respected television broadcast design teams, garnering over a dozen Broadcast Design Awards in the process.

Micah has exhibited his graphic design work in the broad-reaching exhibition covering twenty years of type design: ‘Rebellion Acceptance Overdrive’. He was also selected for the seminal ‘Alter Ego’ exhibition at Cal-Arts. Additionally, he has been invited to speak at institutions such as AIGA, the BDA Awards and California College of the Arts. His art work has been exhibited locally and internationally,  and his print work has been acquired for the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris.

Hahn currently serves as co-principal at the design firm Allies.la, lending his design skills to freelance clients (including The Art and Olfaction Awards).
